Requests and complaints
Privacy & Content Requests
This procedure covers the exercise of personal-data rights, reports concerning published content and requests to review moderation decisions.
Last updated:1. Privacy request
A request should identify the right being exercised and provide sufficient information to locate the relevant record. PPS numbers, payment-card details and identity documents should not be included in the initial request. Proportionate identity verification will be requested only where necessary.
2. Report content
A content report should identify the page, review or photograph concerned, explain the alleged inaccuracy, unlawfulness, privacy issue or breach of the content policy, and state the reporting person’s connection with the material. Urgent safety threats should also be reported to the relevant emergency or law-enforcement service.
3. Review and response
The Salon records the request, examines the relevant information and communicates the outcome. Requests under the GDPR are normally answered within one month, subject to extensions permitted by law. Content reports are addressed with urgency proportionate to the seriousness of the matter.
4. Reconsideration and external complaint
A person contesting a content decision may request reconsideration, stating the grounds and providing any additional evidence. A complaint concerning the processing of personal data may also be lodged with the Irish Data Protection Commission.
